The origins of the campus
It was in 2013 that Groupe Roullier embarked on this
ambitious project to design a campus with all the
facilities required to support its growth and provide
an inspirational visitor experience . In addition to
the physical extension of the building , the central
challenges of the plan were to welcome in more
employees , and offer a comprehensive experience
to stakeholders in conjunction with the adjoining
production plant activities . This extended campus
roots the Group more firmly than ever in Saint - Malo .
A coherent and sustainable
architectural solution
The campus is being developed around the
architectural style created by Jean - Pierre Meignan
as architect for the Centre Mondial de l ’ Innovation
Roullier ( CMI Roullier ) . This f irst building sets the
tone and invites the addition of new contemporary ,
understated , yet identif iable buildings designed
as a complete scheme . Over the years leading up
to the opening of the Atrium building in 2024 , each new
addition made its own contribution to the wider area by
ensuring seamless continuity with the original concept .
Complementary buildings
designed for specif ic purposes
With five buildings and around 900 employees
working together on a single site the campus
is very much an ecosystem in its own right All entities
work together collectively although each has
its own specific purpose With more than 3 000 m
2
of space dedicated to sport arts and sociability
the UFS Univers de la Forme et du Sport sports
centre encourages informal interaction and wellbeing
The campus is also home to the Roullier Endowment
Fund whose Minerallium museum and its scientific
and educational exhibitions attract some 3 500 visitors
every year
An inclusive social hub
The campus is designed as a central social hub
that contributes to the development of the Group ,
and further strengthens its close links with Saint - Malo
and its wider region . In 2025 , it welcomed more than
2 , 300 customers , employees , partners , institutions ,
academics and media representatives on visits
to find out more about the scientific expertise
of the Group at the CMI Roullier , and the
manufacturing skills at work in its Quai Intérieur and
Industrial Park production plants . It also contributes
to local life by making its infrastructures available
to schoolchildren and the emergency services ,
and its sports facilities to the wider Saint - Malo region .
A sustainable , high - quality
environment
The development of the campus has been guided by
structurally important technical and environmental
choices including the use of geothermal energy
bioclimatic design and a photovoltaic power generating
facility The Atrium for example is heated by water from
six geothermal boreholes and has already generated
19 39 MWh of solar energy to meet 15 of its total
power demand Innovative solutions like these are part
of a wider commitment to providing its employees with
modern comfortable working conditions proof positive
that architecture can improve quality of life at the same
time as symbolising the commitment of the Group
“ My mission here is to promote
the wellbeing of every individual
and encourage them to achieve
their full potential in this motivating
and positive working environment .
This commitment is ref lected in a
series of tangible initiatives and events ,
from sport to culture , conferences and
preventive health initiatives to support
our employees in their development . ”
— Marie Poligné , Director of the UFS sports centre
for Group employees
