TIMAC AGRO conducts regular audits as the basis
for maximising the energy performance of its granulation
plants The performance enhancement process combines
technical analysis with shopf loor initiatives to help local
teams gain a better understanding of f lows and losses
Each key stage from granulation to screening grinding
drying and cooling is covered in detail to identify
opportunities for improvement The process has
led to major investments including the installation
of a new generation steam boiler at Charleroi in Belgium
and insulation of the G1 dryer at Pischelsdorf in Austria
reducing its annual energy consumption by 1 500 MWh
and its CO emissions by 360 tonnes

TEN YEARS OF EFFORT
to reduce Terresis
sulphur emissions
The f lue gas desulphurisation project introduced by Terresis at its Zubiri plant
in Spain is designed to reduce sulphur emissions by up to 70 % . The process
uses rotary kiln dust to produce magnesium sulphate , which is then converted
into recoverable Epsom salts .
Launched in 2015 with European Union support , it began as an industrial pilot
project , and has been developed over the following decade thanks to effective
coordination between the technical , legal , marketing and environment teams .
It highlights the determination of Terresis to reduce its environmental footprint
by moving towards reducing its carbon intensity .
