Phosphea is working to save
energy right across its business
Phosphea is actively engaged on a
series of projects to reduce its energy
consumption. At Imbituba in Brazil,
the introduction of a drying line with
integrated wood chipper has cut fuel
consumption by 30% per tonne of
f inished product. Its Billy site in France
is installing a heat recovery unit that
will deliver gas consumption savings
estimated at 10%. Phosphea has also
rolled out an energy consumption
monitoring system designed to identify
opportunities for energy optimisation
by pinpointing excessive consumption
and/or wastage scenarios. The plants
at Prahovo in Serbia, Billy in France and
Cartagena in Spain are all equipped with
this new system.
Packaging is working towards
more effective control of energy
consumption
Monitoring and optimising electricity,
gas and water consumption: that’s the
ambition pursued by Agriplas-Sotralentz
Packaging with the pilot project carried
out in conjunction with startup NRJx
at its Bellegarde-sur-Valserine site.
The collaborative work of the partners
resulted in the introduction of software
offering a range of functions, including
setting alert thresholds and identifying
energy consumption drift, which will
provide the basis for preparing a new
energy action plan.
An overall performance boost for
TIMAC AGRO production facilities
TimaWatt is the TIMAC AGRO energy
eff iciency programme. Each of the sites
involved in the programme now has
a specially trained team responsible
for managing its implementation by
integrating production and maintenance
best practices, applying solutions to
optimise the most energy-intensive
processes, and adjusting consumption
in real time. The ultimate aim is to
achieve an average reduction in energy
consumption of 15%.
In the world of agrifood,
air quality and temperature
control are inseparable
requirements
Paticeo has commissioned a new air
treatment and air conditioning plant at
its Loudéac production facility. As well
as delivering a signif icant improvement
in working conditions in an area where
temperatures are typically high, the new
installation is automated and features a
control system that can optimise energy
consumption in all the workspaces
it serves.
