Where it all began

1959

The Group takes shape following the acquisition of its first crushing plant to process the local maërl (detached coralline algae), whose special qualities make it the most effective soil improver for acid soils

1963

The combination of maërl and Tunisian GAFSA soft rock phosphate

1971

The first granulation plant opens in the port of Saint-Malo

1976

The feed phosphates business (Phosphea) is born

1976

Launch of the Magnesia (Terresis) animal nutrition business

1979

The Group now has 12 production plants around the world

1984

The first research laboratory is opened in Spain

1988

Start of the Packaging activity

1989

Start of the food industry activity

1997

Expansion in Brazil

2000

The acquisition of a 60% stake in Magnesitas Navarras (Spain) leads to the introduction of refractory products, where the main market is steelmaking

2003

Phosphea opens a production plant in Tunisia, and acquires and begins to operate a calcium carbonate quarry in Billy (France)

2005

Creation of the production process research centre with an integrated pilot plant that is a scale replica of a full-size production facility for use by all our plants around the world

2015

Opening of the Centre Mondial de l’Innovation Roullier in Saint-Malo, one of the few private, multi-disciplinary, central research centres, with the aim of facilitating the development of distinctively different technologies and innovative processes. This 5,000 m2 centre is dedicated exclusively to research, and includes 1,200 m2 of experimental greenhouses designed to replicate the climates and soils of different continents for up to 3,000 plants. Some of its analytical laboratories focus on plant nutrition, and others on animal nutrition

2016

The feed phosphates business changes its name to Phosphea as part of its international development trajectory

2021

TIMAC AGRO expands its presence in the USA with the acquisition of Rainbow Plant Food

2022

TIMAC AGRO builds three new production plants in Turkey, Romania and Argentina

2024

The food industry core business comes together under the single brand of Paticeo

2025

Paticeo’s Derval site is extended to increase its production capacity in support of the company’s international expansion and diversification into the foodservice market

2025

Magnesia changes its name to Terresis as part of uniting entities around a shared development ambition
