Formed by the grouping of several sand-dredgers successively integrated into the Roullier Group, the Compagnie Armoricaine de Navigation was created in early 1993.
Initially in charge of supplying sea-origin calcium soil conditioners to Group Roullier factories and port warehouses up to 350 - 450,000 tons per year, the activity of Compagnie Armoricaine de Navigation gradually extended to extraction, transport and unloading of siliceous materials coming from deposits held by the Company or by third parties.
The Compagnie Armoricaine de Navigation (CAN) equips and operates two sand-dredger ships 24 hours a day, 350 days a year with 25 seamen. Nearly 700 000 cubic metres of siliceous and calcareous material were extracted by these two ships in 2006.
