Follow the guide backstage at Timac
Last Saturday, Timac opened its doors to the public. Many visitors came to tour the fertilizer factory alongside the quays.
The Timac factory: a name that is well-known in Saint Malo. Almost an institution, because this company alone symbolizes the success of Daniel Roullier. A discreet, self-made man who over the years has built up a veritable industrial empire. Today the Roullier Group employs 5000 people worldwide and reports revenue of EUR 1 billion. Along the quays, Timac is part of the scenery. And yet, there are many passersby who drive or walk in front every day with no idea of what really goes on behind its doors. Saturday, management lifted the veil by organizing an open house event. The first since 2002.

A new factory for Roullier’s garden fertiliser activity
The Saint-Malo based manufacturing group Roullier, which recorded revenues of €1.18 billion in 2005, is currently investing €5 million in a new 10 000 m² indoor production unit in Dinard (Ille-et-Vilaine). It will be used for its Florendi Jardin activity, which specialises in the manufacture of garden fertilisers. The site will be operational in September/October 2006. At the same time Roullier will close its Florendi Jardin site in Cognac (Charente), which is deemed unsuitable for modernisation.

Roullier has chosen to move this division to Dinard in view of its ownership of other factories in the town, in particular its agricultural chemicals and plastics production units. The 35 Florendi Jardin employees in Cognac have been offered alternative roles within the group. It is expected that the majority of these employees will refuse internal transfers and be offered redundancy. The creation of 35 new jobs has been advertised for the Dinard site.

Pâtisseries Gourmandes reinforce its installation
Pâtisseries Gourmandes will receive real estate assistance for the purchase and restoration of the former Cofilmo building. With this investment, which concerns the purchasing of 2,500 m² of buildings on 7,000 m² of land, Loudéac, which already holds the main production and logistic platform of the Group, will become the central point in the administrative and commercial organisation and in its research on the national level. Considering the economic interest of this operation, elected officials voted in favour of a grant of 45,652 €, as a complement to the assistance awarded by the Conseil Général (Departmental Council).
