Preparing the agriculture of tomorrow at the Centre Mondial de l'Innovation Roullier

The innovation led by CMI Roullier, from research to bringing to market, allows us to respond to issues in the field encountered by all Group employees in contact with our clients and partners. As such, CMI Roullier works to develop high added-value agronomic and zootechnical solutions that improve agricultural performance in an environmentally-friendly way.

The innovation teams are continually committed to improving and bolstering the unique functions of soil, plant, and animal through the development of technological and biological products that improve yield and quality, allowing for progress to be made in rejuvenating the agricultural world.

Ground

Improving soil composition

Soils are essential for plant growth, livestock, and water and carbon storage, but they are also habitats for numerous microorganisms. Protecting soil fertility ensures profitable and sustainable agriculture. CMI’s teams work on developing solutions that take into account soil life and make it possible to utilise soil reserves as well as farm fertilisers and field residues.

For example : an innovative raw material has been developed that bolsters the nutritional efficiency of phosphorus, a nutrient essential for plant growth. This technological innovation increases the phosphorous available to plants by preventing it from being locked in the soil.

Plante

Optimising plant quality and yield

Ensuring crop yield and quality requires nutrition specifically suited to the needs of each plant and its current stage of development (germination, vegetative growth, flowering), and its growth conditions (soil type, climate, rotation).

For example, among the solutions we have developed, we are working on:

  • Improving plants’ resistance to stress, whether abiotic (from physical conditions: frost, heat, drought, water saturation) or biotic (from organisms: fungi, viruses, bacteria).
  • Working with specific sectors to improve output quality, output preservation, and germination uniformity.

Animal

Making the animal production cycle more efficient

The CMI teams’ objectives also include ensuring efficient, high quality animal production while respecting animal wellbeing. We develop nutritional specialities for ruminants (cows), monogastric animals (poultry, pigs), and marine animals (fish, shrimp)

For example, among the solutions we have developed, we are working on:

  • Improving basic feed using a nitrogen-based ruminal activator resulting from industrial and zootechnical innovation.
  • Innovative, natural solutions that combat rumen acidosis (an overly acidic rumen resulting from a diet that is too high in energy and low in fibre) to improve animal health and production.

CMI Roullier’s international reach
